I am very excited to be directing a short that is based on a section of the Paulo Coelho book, "The Witch of Portobello". This will be submitted to a competition wherein, if chosen, the production will become part of the final movie. I am a huge fan of Paulo Coelho books, and believe this to be a great opportunity to be part of something inspiring and beautiful. The movie has to be finished editing by May 31st, so there is a lot of work that has to be completed by then. I am looking for a dedicated crew that can spend a lot of time, energy and focus over the next 2 and a half months to complete this project.
Here are the positions that are needing to be filled:
Production Manager ~ This position requires someone who is organized and energetic. The Production Manager is required to know what is going on with the production at all times. It is a very big, very important job.
Director of Photography ~ This is a position that I am not going to describe very much, if you can do it, you already know what it is.
Camera Assistant ~ This position requires keeping track of the shots that have been taken, and whether they were good or not. This also requires helping the Director of Photography complete their job effectively.
Gaffer ~ This job is the job of an electrician, there will be some outdoor scenes, and it would be great if we had someone who is competent, knowledgable and comfortable working with electricity.
Production Designer/Art Director ~ This person is responsible for creating sets that are a complement to the script.
Costume Designer ~ This position requires overseeing the costumes of the actors.
Script Supervisor ~ This person will take notes about the scenes that were shot.
Location Manager ~ This position requires ensuring that locations are suitable for shooting.
Prop Master ~ This person makes sure that the correct props for the scenes being shot that day are available when needed.
To apply for any of these positions, please contact me at heidi@brighidswell.info to find out the details. We will be meeting in person on the afternoon of March 29th. I look forward to hearing from you.
